Fish sandwich

My parents don't purchase toys for my kids as gifts very often. Most of the time it is a knit sweater (Karl loves them), books (Clark), or something else. My parents see the toys we have and figure they have too many. Well, even a few toys apiece times 6 kids adds up! This year, my parents gave Karl a pack of 101 cookie cutters made by Betty Crocker. Karl's response was "Cool! More sandwich cutters!" My mother was a little confused until I The Betty Crocker ones seem to be larger than my Wilton ones. So I think these will work a lot better for sandwiches. No, I'm not going to tell you how many cookie cutters I own. I may take a picture of it someday though.

For lunch we have sliced apples (dipped in salt water so they won't brown), carrots and celery, a cheese stick, fruit snacks, and fish shaped sandwiches. I used a dab of peanut butter to keep the eye on.

Snack was grapes with carrots and humus. I knew the humus would not be a hit. Still, I give it to them. I hope that one day they will acquire a taste for it. I know Clark does sometimes.

Lunches 1/15

Clark requested the airplane cutter. Sadly, the cheese we purchased this week tends to crumble. So this sandwich cutter did not work the best.

I used something larger for the other 2 lunches. Today we have popcorn, apple slices, ham and cheese penguins, a Babybel cheese, and orange slices.

The girls and I had soup and rice for lunch. I made chicken and vegetable soup.

I used a "soup starter" I had made last time we had chicken. It chicken stock with chicken. To it I added some mixed vegetables, canned diced tomatoes, and cubed potatoes. I cooked rice in my rice cooker and then used a mold to shape it into bears. The eyes and noses are made from nori.

Lunch and snack 1/14

I am always on the look out for new lunch containers or snack containers for the boys. I happened to find thee two at Walmart and couldn't resist.

Karl picked the snack today. I think it is an odd combination, but... Karl was proud of himself. He chose popcorn that Aunt Agnes picked up and pepperoni.

For lunch we have ham and cheese tortillas, apples, Multi grain corn chips, a cheese stick, and pepper slices.

Our first Easy Lunch Box ~ meat dinosaur

* Special news at the bottom!

I LOVE my Easy Lunch Boxes and I haven't even used them yet! The boxes are thicker than the other brands. This will com in handy when The Elder takes them to work. It is harder for him to grab and hang onto things with his disability. So sometimes things get smashed. As you can see, there is plenty of room for food. Today's lunch is for The Elder. I finally have talked him into packing a lunch instead of taking a microwave meal.

I am sure this is not what he had in mind. Poor, poor Elder. Hahaha. Ok, I don't feel bad at all. They all know I am crazy.

I attempted to make 2 dinosaurs out of ground meat. Sadly they didn't hold up to well. I used 2 dinosaur food pick heads to make them look better. I hope The Elder returns with them. Also we have a volcano made out of homemade mashed potatoes with some butter under the carrot lava. In addition to that, we have some steamed broccoli.

The last compartment did not come out as well as planned. Believe it or not, what looks like stewed tomatoes is really cooked apples with the skins left on (red), cinnamon, lemon juice, and a little raw sugar.

Special News!!!!
Only 11 more bento lunches until we have a give away to celebrate our 100th posted bento lunch! Yeah!!!!
