1Up

Snack is alphabet pretzels, WOW Butter, and apples.

Karl requested the 1up mushrooms for lunch. They are ham sandwiches. We also have mandarin oranges, tomatoes, cucumber (no one will eat that but...) string cheese, and chocolate covered raisins.

Easy lunch 2

The boys have been eating their pretzels but leaving all their veggies. So I lessened the amount of pretzels.

The last of the subs and croissants were eaten by the boys today. The space food pick were such a hit, I decided to use them again.

Minions!

We have some new magnets for our lunches. Ok, we have more than a few. The boys' father is gifted in photography and web design. I asked him if he could put together some magnets for the boys to fit their interests or to match with cookie cutters I have. Today we are using those. I have Karl's lunch featured. Clark had World of Goo for his magnet and Laurence had Batman.

The snack containers all had this minion magnet set on them. I have a minion banana, carrots, and a cheese stick. The minion eyes were purchased off Amazon.

This was taken in our morning rush. The boys did not want to get ready today. This is Karl's lunch with Pac Man magnets. They all had minion sandwiches on a minion baking cup, a minion banana, carrots, tomatoes (Clark's request), a cheese stick that says "You are one in a Minion.", and chocolate covered raisins.

Lunch and snack 1/14

I am always on the look out for new lunch containers or snack containers for the boys. I happened to find thee two at Walmart and couldn't resist.

Karl picked the snack today. I think it is an odd combination, but... Karl was proud of himself. He chose popcorn that Aunt Agnes picked up and pepperoni.

For lunch we have ham and cheese tortillas, apples, Multi grain corn chips, a cheese stick, and pepper slices.

Bagel sandwich lunch

Lunch! I know most kindergartners eat more than this. Mine don't. For lunch we have half of an asiago cheese bagel from Panera Bread with ham and honey mustard, a cheese stick, raisins, piece of chocolate (hidden under raisins), and half of a blood orange.

And then the top would not fit on one of the containers. *sighs* Really? I decided to dig out one of the round containers since they were much deeper. That led to another issue, the container was no longer packed tight. I don't know why that drives me nuts, but it does. It is taking a lot of restraint to not pack more food. I am sure he will not eat all of his lunch as is. That is not what keeps me from packing more though. What keeps me from doing so is, I do not want one child to feel I love the other more. Easy fix, right? Just put the other lunch in a round container. Nope. I would rather sit here with a nagging feeling of there being empty space... Mama has serious issues.

Pac Man

I tried. I am sure if I put more time or effort into lunches, they would be nicer. Once upon the time I had that drive. Now? No. I am just tired. It is important that my minions enjoy their lunches. I know they love their sandwiches in shapes. So the extra 15 seconds to use a cookie cutter on the sandwich and maybe take 5 seconds to cut an eye out of cheese is worth it.

Today I used a large biscuit cutter to make Pac Man. Then I used a knife to cut out his mouth. I used a piece of mozzarella cheese for the eye. I added a full cheese stick to the lunch for dairy. The apple is their fruit. My minions love to eat whole apples. In the thermos is juice. I prefer to send them with juice to help Clark with his bodily functions... We will leave it at that.

Please note, these lunches are for a 33lb 6 year old and a 32lb 5 year old. I wish they ate more, but they don't. If I am extremely lucky, they will eat this whole lunch. I know for sure the apple will be eaten. Maybe part of the cheese stick, and maybe one of the 2 sandwiches. Unless they are having a "starving" day. If they are, then I will have a near empty lunchbox come home.

Halloween lunch

Not pictured: an apple
Today's lunch consists of skull left over pizza (2 of them), cheese stick ghosts (1 1/2 sticks), pretzels, organic fruit strips, a chocolate pumpkin, and an apple (not pictured). I used nori on the cheese to make faces and cheese cut outs for the skull.

I have to admit that most lunches have been quick cookie cutter/sandwich cutter lunches with little effort or time put into them. For the most part, I manage to make 2 kids lunches and an adult lunch in 5 minutes.

See Our Life for a recent update.

Dinosaurs and Angry Birds

The Elder shall be first. Poor man has leftovers from Wednesday. On a bed of fresh spinach he has 2 leftover cupcake lasagna. I added a little more crushed tomatoes and some cheese to the top. He also has a piece of pound cake and 2 little chocolate bars.

Clark requested Angry Birds this time. So I made him 2 large Angry Birds and a small one. All this sits on a bed of spinach. Yes, everyone has spinach today. Clark is the only one who is known to eat it raw. He likes to "eat leaves like dinosaurs". He also has a cheese stick. On top there is pineapple, carrots, and orange pepper.

Tyke wanted dinosaurs. He is actually why I added the spinach. I felt it went with the sandwiches. As always, he has the same side items as Clark. It just makes life easier. He is not a fan of carrots, but I still serve them. One day he may try them and like them.

Angry Birds and Skulls

Sorry this one will just not flip. Clark requested this one. He wanted something spooky. How could I tell him no? Ok, I tell him no a lot. This was something easy though. So I dug out my Halloween cookie cutters and came up with a skull. Clark has strawberries, a carrot (he loves them that way), grapes, a cheese stick, and a yogurt tube.

The Elder has maple chicken, left over homemade cheese potatoes, KitKat bars, and corn.

Tyke wanted Angry Birds again. So I made him birds with my larger cutter and some piggies with the cookie stamps. He also has a broken up cheese stick, grapes, carrots, and strawberries. The tube on top is full of yogurt.

Dinosaur Sandwich

I am going to miss the kids I use to babysit for. They are always such good eaters. Sadly they are moving out of state. After not seeing them for a month, I was given a chance to watch them. :-D Sadly, this is probably the last lunch I will get to make them. I asked R (the older one) what he wanted for lunch and allowed him to pick out the sandwich cutter and everything else that went into this lunch.

So this last lunch consists of 2 dinosaur Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, currants (or baby grapes as he called them), raisins, a cheese stick, and some pretzels. There is also 3 small pieces of chocolate.

I know it is not very organized, sorry! I had 6 kids 5 and under.
