Even better!

I am getting even better at this! I have gone from hating these trays to loving them!

I have ham, cheese, pistachio desert thing, organic crackers, and a cutie orange.

On top of that I places a yogurt tube and a juice drink. I needed to move a few of the crackers, but nothing is moving!

I figured the trays out!

Can you feel my excitement? I just need something to hold it all down. Like a yogurt tube and a spoon (not pictured) crossing the food.

We have a mini crunch bar, apple sauce, a Cutie orange, almonds and mini chocolate chips, a ham and cheese croissant, and a yogurt tube

Another try at the tray

I want to apologize for the bad picture! This is a new low for me.

I am starting to figure out the lunch tray and how to keep everything from shifting. I have a cup of cheese, a cup of sour cream (by request), a cup of salsa, a cup of apple sauce, and a cup of chicken. Then it is all covered with chips. Nothing moved when I lifted it. :-D

I burnt lunch......

I need more sleep still. I burnt lunch not once, twice, or even three times. I burnt it FOUR times. Being who I am, I couldn't let that get in the way of my planned lunch. In the end, I had enough tortilla to give each boy half (2 pieces) of ham and cheese quesadilla. Needless to say, that really was not enough food. So I added in 2 mini chocolate chip banana muffins, a baby orange (Are they called Cuties?), grapes, and strawberries.

Is that an Edible Arangement pineapple cupcake pop?

I tossed this cheap container after this use. I love my Easy Lunchboxes so much better!

Notice I have been packing a little more to eat? Well, I noticed that there was next to nothing left over in the lunch boxes. So I figured it was time to pack more. I trained the boys to never toss anything away at school. Yes, it can make the lunch box a mess, but I rarely have lost picks.

Today I have a crust-less PB&J sandwich. After I made it, the boys asked for meat and cheese "sticks". *sighs* I told them no and then changed my mind. It only takes another minute to make them. So sure! Also I have an Edible Arrangement pineapple "cupcake pop". For fruit we have blackberries and blueberries. I added a carrot for crunch. Clark was pleased, Tyke not so much.

Lunch boxes from South Korea came!

Tortilla wraps have become another favorite here. Ham and cheese tortilla wrap, strawberries, and a yogurt tube.

Now about these "lunch boxes"... I am not liking them. There is a large gap between the tray spots and the lid. So food can move. I wanted to just not use these, but the boys say them and insisted. Hence the horrible lunch.

I do think they are pretty cute and think they would work well for home use. They come with a sleeve for travel.

Doggy bag leftovers

Ok, only 2 of these items are from our doggy bag. None the less, we used leftovers today. Last night we went out and I ordered the minions all grilled cheese sandwiches, fries, and grapes for dinner. Colonel Sanders turned her nose up at the grapes and ended up going after The Elder's baked apples. So I had some spare grapes!

Left over grilled cheese, ham on frog picks, leftover grapes, a Halloween kit kat bar (yes, it is STILL good!), and some sour applesauce in a squeeze container.

Tortilla wrap

Back to adding food picks! Takes only seconds to add just a little fun to lunch.

Today we have ham and cheese tortilla roll up with string cheese, grapes, and a snickers bar for desert.

Breakfast for lunch!

Can you tell I got some sleep last night? I did! :-D  I made the minions zoo animal waffles with a tube of yogurt, real maple syrup, and a banana.

I have 4 animals in each box. For breakfast, the minions *might* eat 3 with some juice. I make my waffles dense.

Here are the shapes in my waffle maker. A giraffe, lion, and an elephant.

Chips and Salsa take 2.

Still not making very cute lunches. I have been pretty tempted to just send the minions to school with lunch money. I actually tried to yesterday. Both refused and directed me to make them the "lunchable" lunch. I love my minions.

The chips and salsa was a HUGE hit and it was requested again. I am to tired to argue. This time I have organic blue chips, corn and black bean salsa, chicken breast pieces, shredded cheese, and a snickers for desert.

I added cheese this time. I felt so bad about not having any dairy last time. After I packed this, I realized there wasn't any fruit or vegetable (I am not counting the salsa today). So I added a baby banana and called it good.

Cracker lunch

I know this looks like next to no food, but there is more here than there is in a standard Lunchable. I really hate it when the teacher sends home leftovers on snack day. Yesterday was our day and Tyke chose Angry Birds crackers. I asked the teacher to keep any leftover boxes as part of their stash for when parents forget. She must have to many right now.

Anyway, I wanted to use it up. So we have a blood orange (looks bad in the picture), a stack of cheese, Angry Birds crackers, and turkey. There is a small snickers bar for desert.

Left over ham

I have "carrot coins", green cauliflower, crackers, homemade chocolate popcorn, and ham.  Clark helped me pick out what to put into their lunch today.

Chips and Salsa

Chips, Salsa, orange slices, and some fajita flavored chicken breast pieces.

I added a baby orange and water on top.

Bagel pizza

I have been so tired. I know that is nothing new. 5 or less hours of sleep a night is catching up to me. Here is half a bagel with melted cheese and a slice of "big not spicy pepperoni" on it. Or that is what Clark calls salami. I also included an apple, baby banana and a cup of yogurt.

Bagel sandwich lunch

Lunch! I know most kindergartners eat more than this. Mine don't. For lunch we have half of an asiago cheese bagel from Panera Bread with ham and honey mustard, a cheese stick, raisins, piece of chocolate (hidden under raisins), and half of a blood orange.

And then the top would not fit on one of the containers. *sighs* Really? I decided to dig out one of the round containers since they were much deeper. That led to another issue, the container was no longer packed tight. I don't know why that drives me nuts, but it does. It is taking a lot of restraint to not pack more food. I am sure he will not eat all of his lunch as is. That is not what keeps me from packing more though. What keeps me from doing so is, I do not want one child to feel I love the other more. Easy fix, right? Just put the other lunch in a round container. Nope. I would rather sit here with a nagging feeling of there being empty space... Mama has serious issues.

Quick lunch

Lunch, ahh yes. I told myself that from now on, there is no more store bought, pre sliced in a nice little bag bread. No more. What did I fail to do this weekend? Bake bread.  I then thought I would make lunch crepes. Then I realized it was late at night and after bowling I had no intention of doing so. DIY cracker, cheese and meat? YES! I loved that idea. Till I realized that my crackers were all broken. BOO!
This unique lunch is what came out of my laziness and desperation. I suppose I could have run up to the corner store (2 minutes if that).

I cannot get this to rotate. So sorry!

I have organic chicken apple sausage on tooth toothpicks, string cheese, half of a blood orange, a baby banana, organic bunny crackers, and a piece of candy left from Winter Holiday.

I could have used sliced ham, but I chose not to. I know Tyke really likes this sausage.

Fish and Minion and a molded rice lunch

I put a little more effort than and time into lunch today. I think it took me a whole 10 minutes for all 3 lunches. The Elder has leftovers. Easy lunch right there!

I put just a hair more effort into it this morning. I cut a banana down and tried to make it into a minion. Like it? I was to lazy to put him in overalls.

This is picture number 666 on my phone.
For lunch we have a pack of fruit snacks that I am trying to get out of the house, a pack of raisins with a minion sticker on it, 3 fish sandwiches (yes, I know it does not belong), and some yogurt in the disposable container.

This picture is sideways, but can you tell what I molded the rice and turkey casserole into? It is a train. I used a cookie cutter and packed the rice in. Then I let it chill over night and removed the cookie cutter from the lunch. It was set. The Elder said it held up pretty well.

2nd lunch of the New Year

Sometimes sandwich containers make my life so much easier. I can easily pack 2 into a lunchbox and have room for a veggie container and juice.

Lunches for the boys. Turkey sandwiches. Tyke has a thing for dinosaurs as of late. Clark picked out a car. I also added a Kit Kat and string cheese that is partly opened. Don't worry, it does not dry out of get ucky before lunch.

They have grapes and carrots for their fruit and veggie. Clark will eat his carrots. The sensory input he gets from them is great. I added some dip in hopes Tyke would eat it... Yeah, no luck.

Pac Man

I tried. I am sure if I put more time or effort into lunches, they would be nicer. Once upon the time I had that drive. Now? No. I am just tired. It is important that my minions enjoy their lunches. I know they love their sandwiches in shapes. So the extra 15 seconds to use a cookie cutter on the sandwich and maybe take 5 seconds to cut an eye out of cheese is worth it.

Today I used a large biscuit cutter to make Pac Man. Then I used a knife to cut out his mouth. I used a piece of mozzarella cheese for the eye. I added a full cheese stick to the lunch for dairy. The apple is their fruit. My minions love to eat whole apples. In the thermos is juice. I prefer to send them with juice to help Clark with his bodily functions... We will leave it at that.

Please note, these lunches are for a 33lb 6 year old and a 32lb 5 year old. I wish they ate more, but they don't. If I am extremely lucky, they will eat this whole lunch. I know for sure the apple will be eaten. Maybe part of the cheese stick, and maybe one of the 2 sandwiches. Unless they are having a "starving" day. If they are, then I will have a near empty lunchbox come home.
