Sausage worm

I have a little worm made out of organic nitrate free hot dog slices sitting on a bed of cheese. Under it I have nitrate free turkey. On the top I have strawberries, an organic cereal, and carrot slices. The face was made with nori.

This is the Colonel's lunch. She too has a hot dog worm, turkey, cheese sliced into little pieces, strawberries, and some organic and GMO free cereal.

Fun boxes today.

I decided we wanted to use some fun bento boxes today. Sadly they are all hidden on that shelf. I need to reorganize them and maybe put them on 2 shelves so that I can see them.

The colonel has a baguette peanut butter and jelly sandwich, blueberries, orange slice, strawberries, cheese and a cookie left over from making mini cheesecakes.

The boys had cheese, orange slices, blueberries, a cookie, and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on a baguette.

Ham and cheese

Today the minions have another roll up sandwich. This time it is made from ham and gouda cheese with a little bit of mayo. I also gave them strawberries and blueberries. For desert they have half of a mini cheese cake. I made the mini cheesecakes for The Elder to take to work on his birthday and I had extra.

The Colonel has strawberries, blueberries, roast beef sliced small, gouda cheese, some thin sliced baguette, and half of a mini cheesecake.

Hi

Today we had a 2 hour delay. Because of this, Clark's bus picked him up at 12:10pm instead of 11:30am. See, normally the bus leaves the school with the AM students and picks up the PM students while she drops the AM students off. We are very close to the school, so Clark is the first on. Since there were no AM students today, Clark was picked up last. Needless to say the change did not go over well with Clark.

Due to the change, I also made Clark a lunch. Clark's group eats at school (family style) and Tyke's does not.

We have mandarin oranges, popcorn, a peanut butter roll up, blueberries, and cheese cubes that spell out "Hi".

The Colonel has a similar lunch. She has popcorn (picked apart so no pieces will get stuck in her teeth/choke her), mandarin oranges, blueberries, peanut butter roll up, and cheese.

Easy lunch and our silly fish

Lunch today is a peanut butter tortilla, homemade granola, cheese squares, carrot coins, watermelon, pineapple, and melon.

Oh look! The Colonel is learning to drink from a big girl cup! My grandmother (who lives in Montana) had 2 of these small cups come in a camping kit she purchased. She had no clue why anyone would want a coffee cup that small, especially when camping. So she sent it to my mother for the minions.

Here is Colonel Sanders lunch. I steamed the carrots a little so that they had a little crunch left in them, yet they were a little soft for The Colonel. I also gave her watermelon and pineapple. To the right I have peanut butter tortilla wrap slices, cheese, and homemade granola (large nuts taken out).

Pork looks happy. Where is Tyke? I wondered that too. I went out to the living room and there he was sitting with Aunt Julie. *sighs* Sorry Tyke, it's lunch time, not Kindle time.

This is our goldfish. Well 2 of them. The black one floats like that quite often. We have had him for several months now. Not quite sure what to make of it.

This is what greeted me when I got back to the dining room. Silly Colonel!

Banana bread muffin sandwich

Colonel Sanders' lunch. She has a muffin top cut in half and made into a biscoff and jelly sandwich, some pickled bologna, cheese scraps, blue berries, and strawberries. The little cheese figure is suppose to be a frog. The Colonel is now 15 months old.

Look! Clark is home today (No school on Friday). The Colonel is checking out Clark's lunch. Pork Chop is happily playing with his cheese cut out (rocket).

Here is the boys' lunch. Another half of a homemade banana muffin cut in half and made into a biscoff and jelly sandwich. Pickled bologna, cheese, blueberries, strawberries, and some pineapple. Their cut out is a little rocket.

Clark and Tyke smiling over lunch. I hope they have enough energy to help me with laundry after lunch!

Leftover Chicken nuggets

Lunch for The Colonel. We have leftover homemade chicken nuggets (sliced for her), granola with extra dried cranberries (minus the larger nuts), peanut butter tortilla wraps, and triangle cheese slices.

Pork and Tyke (even though they are still a bit ill) also had leftover chicken nuggets, granola with extra cranberries, peanut butter tortilla wraps, triangle cheese slices, and celery sticks.

These chicken nuggets taste really good cold. They really do.

Spaghetti Leftovers!

I love leftover lunches. They make my life so much easier. Today's lunch is a leftover from Monday nights dinner. I have Barilla spaghetti (I like it better than most) the meatballs have hidden blended carrots, a little spinach, and cheese. I also use a little oatmeal in it too. I know you can't tell and no one (even The Elder) has noticed it yet. :-D Score!

This is Colonel Sanders' lunch. We have cheese, multi colored raisins with sunflower seeds, spaghetti, and a meatball in our Easy Lunchboxes.

Sourdough star sandwich

I decided I would make some sourdough bread. This gave me the chance to use my star bread pan. I think it turned out pretty well. I have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on sourdough bread, cottage cheese, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries.

I made Colonel Sanders the same thing, only I made sure to cut her bread as thin as I could. I also have to admit that I regretted giving her cottage cheese and allowing her to feed herself.

Rocket ships, UFO's and Hello Kitty

I decided to use my little ham & cheese cutters for lunch today. I used my UFO, Rocket Ship, and Tree cutters for the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  For the sides I have cheese, a single prune (I wanted them to try it) and some dehydrated strawberries, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds.

The Colonel has a similar lunch. She has Hello Kitty sandwiches and baby trees. I also gave her some cheese pieces, a cut up prune, dehydrates strawberries, and some sunflower seeds.

Both lunches were put in my Easy Lunchboxes

Strawberry critters

Today's lunch consists of watermelon, blood oranges, and celery. I made odd little critters using  strawberries, candy eyes, and slivered almonds.  I also have little cheese birds and a banana muffin made into peanut butter sandwiches.

The Colonel has her own lunch. She has everything her brothers had except I did not give her any candy eyes. I was afraid she would choke on them since they are quite hard.

Pork and Clark are eating. Tyke was having a really bad acid reflux day. He just was not to interested in eating anything.

Colonel Sanders checking out her meal.

Anpanman Onigiri

I decided to make the minions some onigiri. The rice was made with homemade turkey broth. I wanted to make it fun so I took out my egg molds and use those to make the shapes. I use my Anpanman and star molds. Inside of them I have some chicken and veggies. To create the face I used ketchup and nori.  I also included various sliced fruit, piece of banana, cheese, and homemade chicken nuggets.

Here is Colonel Sanders lunch. Her chicken nuggets are much smaller than her brothers.

Sadly no one but The Colonel had any interest in the onigiri.

Hard boiled eggs

I know you do not see them to often, but I made hard boiled eggs for everyone's lunches today! I have a Thomas, Percy, Fish, Hello Kitty, Bunny, and Car hard boiled eggs today. How did I make these? Egg molds.

Here is another sight you don't see every day! Today was a snow day. Clark was in the kitchen when I decided to make lunch, so I had him pick out what bento he wanted to eat out of, he wanted the police car. To keep the others from fighting to much, I picked out the other rescue vehicles for them to eat from. Poor Clark could not wait to sit down and have lunch today. Sadly he did not eat well. None the less, he was desperate to sit down and open op his police car. I may have to order another police car and fire truck at some point. I just hate spending $30 on a smallish lunchbox that I am afraid to lose. Yes, I know some moms have lunchboxes of that price for their kids to take to school every day and they never have an issue. I am just very cheap and well, I really like these. The minions do like to eat from bentos, but I also collect them (for their use).

Everyone had their own egg today. I sliced all eggs in half, made deviled eggs, and then put the 2 halves back together. This is Colonel Sanders lunch. The green outline is done with a food safe marker.

Clark's lunch. He had the Thomas egg. I also have blood orange slices, ham, cheese, and some blueberries.... I'm not sure why his are not pictured. Oh yeah, HE ATE THEM!

Pork got the "flat" fire truck. As you can see, it still holds quite a bit of food. The eggs are super easy to make. Hard boil some eggs. While they are still warm you need to peel them. I always put the peeled eggs back in the hot water for a minute before I put them into the egg molds. Next put them in the egg mold and close it. If you want it done "fast", put the mold in a bowl of ice water (or very cold water) for 10-15 minutes. Open it up and there you go!

Tyke got the car egg mold. I do not think my egg was warm enough when I put it in (it was the last egg and I was getting bored). It did form pretty well, but the tires have been better other times I have used this mold. Tyke had turkey for his meat. Come to think of it, I think Clark was the only one who had ham.

I know this lunch lacks some sort of fiber, trust me, we had plenty of it for breakfast (homemade whole wheat chocolate waffles), snack (homemade granola), and for dinner we are having homemade mac and cheese using whole grain noodles. While they may not have any in this meal, they are easily meeting their daily amount between other meals and snacks.

I made Julie lunch too. She has cheese and a leftover slice of blood orange. I cooked down some fruit until it became thick (when cooled) and put some homemade granola on top. I added a few blueberries for color. The sandwich is on homemade bread and consists of egg salad and spinach. On top of it is half one of one of the molded eggs. She got a bunny.

The boys are checking out what Mama made them for lunch. Mmm.....

Aunt Julie and The Colonel. Notice the Colonel. I think she wants Julie's egg.

Ramen Noodles for lunch

Today we will start with Colonel Sanders lunch. She is now 14 months old and has a full set of teeth. Around the edges of the box I have slightly steamed carrot. I steamed it just enough for it to bend, but not enough for it to be completely soft. The colonel enjoys a little crunch. I also have diced kiwi, green melon, watermelon, a rolled up slice of nitrate free turkey, thin cut cheese, and some ramen noodles with veggies.

I have to admit that I had my doubts when I saw this bento box. I wondered if it would really hold enough for lunch. Given some of my other boxes (and previous posts with small boxes) I should have known better than to doubt. Fot some odd reason the minions enjoy ramen noodles cold. So they have ramen noodles with mixed veggies, watermelon, green melon and kiwi slices. under the lid was that very small white piece. It was perfect for something flat like a cookie or small like M&M's. For a treat I gave them some small M&M's. Under that we have sliced carrots, mozzarella and cheddar cheese and nitrate free turkey.

The Crab and the Chicks.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Easy Lunchboxes? I know I do not use them a lot for the minions, but I use them 5-6 days a week for The Elder. Easy Lunchboxes came out with some new colors! Can you feel my excitement? I have 12 of the normal ones right now. So in theory I should be fine. "Just to be safe" I ordered 2 packages (8 boxes) of their "Brights". :-D :-D :-D I told myself that I would never use faces on here, but I am to excited not to.

Tyke informed me today that he did not want a "cut" sandwich. So I left his whole and made him a cheese crab on top of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The eyes are candy eyes. The crab shaped cutter I used was actually in the "dollar" section of Target. It was part of a play-dough tool set. I took out any piece that could be used for a sandwich cutter and gave the minions the rest for their clay. The minions also have cheese, blackberries, and strawberries for lunch.

Pork wanted me to make him cute sandwiches, so I used a cookie cutter to cut him out 3 chicks. I used cheese to give them beaks and candy eyes. Above them I used another play-dough cutter to make him a duck.

Colonel Sanders had her own cute lunch. Here she has 3 Hello Kitty sandwiches. I used a Hello Kitty cookie cutter that had one of the press on faces. This makes the bread nice and flat. I also used left over cheese scraps (from the crab and duck) for her cheese. I cut the strawberries into smaller pieces for her.

Oh look! Aunt Julie is overseeing lunch today! I have class today. So while the minions eat lunch, I make sure everything is in my school bag, take a shower, and then drive Tyke to school. From there I go right to school myself.
