Meatloaf Wednesday

What do frogs have to do with this lunch? Absolutely
nothing! I just felt like using them. Or maybe I should just say they went with the fudge.

Anyway, for lunch today, The Elder has mashed potatoes and carrots (don't knock it till you try it) and mini meatloaf stuffed with cheese. To the right he has a piece of fudge (not homemade, to lazy) and steamed cauliflower.

The minions have a mini stuffed meatloaf, carrots, cauliflower, snap peas, dried cranberries, mozzarella cheese, and an energy ball. On the side they have a Mini Dipper from Easy Lunchboxes filled with Italian dressing.

Why the funny faces on the 2 minions? I have no clue. Tyke insisted I take his picture and he gave me that lovely pose. Then Pork insisted I also take a picture of his dirty faced self. *sighs* I am still trying to figure out where the chocolate on his face came from.

Stuffed Manicotti and Chicken

Remember how I said we would have several lunches with that leftover chicken tenders? Well this is the last of it.  Like so many other times, we will start with the large compartment. You cannot see it very well, but under the chicken tenders and homemade tomato sauce, there are 2 homemade cheese and herb manicotti. I have small zucchini stars on top of the tomato sauce.

To the left we have a orange mini cheesecake. This time I remembered that it is hard for The Elder to get the wrapper off with his one hand. So I took that off ahead of time. Under that are green peas.

For the boys I decided to use my Sassy lunch box. There are chicken tenders and matchstick carrots on the left. I have zucchini stars decorating this lunch as well.

On the right I have some sliced zucchini. Under that I gave the boys 2 cheese and herb stuffed shells. I added a little cheddar to their shells since they really enjoy its sharp flavor. I also have a grape tomato on a food pick. I know it is a little out of place, but I am trying to get the minions to eat tomatoes. I told them it was a red grape.

Colonel Sanders also has her own bento. She has sliced red grapes, steamed matchstick carrots, steamed thin sliced zucchini slices, and a cheese stuffed shell. The jumbo shells are normally left a little firm so they will hold up to being stuffed and baked. I made sure to cook her shell for just a little longer so that it was soft.

Soccer night bento part 2: The Elder and Colonel Sanders

The Elder is enjoying his dinner.  I put his in a Rubber maid food container.

This is little Colonel Sander's bento. Yummy! Little miss 8 teeth enjoys her big girl food a little to much. The peas were cooked until they were very soft and then slightly smushed, baked potato, grapes cut into small pieces, and fruit filled shredded wheat. Colonel Sanders loves her shredded wheat.

This cute little container is a side dish container from All Things For Sale.

"Mmmm.... It's fun to eat and watch my brothers play soccer... Or watch one run off the field crying every few minutes. Yep, that's fun too!"

Notice how dainty she is? Must pick it out of the bento with 2 fingers.

S is for Soccer

Clark is in spring soccer! I was in a rush to make a dinner on the go. I really need to plan ahead better. Soccer practice is right at our dinner time.  I hate to feed the minions to early because it will throw them off. Then it makes it hard to get them to bed on time.

Anyway, yes, the soccer ball looks odd. Then again, his soccer ball they were given last year looks odd. It is orange with some odd lines on it. Not the typical soccer ball. Good thing for me Clark knew exactly what it was.

Under the processed cheese soccer ball there is a peanut butter sandwich. To the right of that are 9 animal cracker pieces, 9 squares of cheese, and 9 squares of turkey. The number 9 was cut out of bread and colored with food safe markers.

The bottom tier is yet another peanut butter sandwich under the cheese, grape tomatoes, and mango pieces.

This bento was purchased from All Things For Sale.

D is for Domo

Aunt Agnes made some banana bread the other day. I have to say that I love hers. Not to much banana to make it mushy and it is not sweet either. It's perfect! Yet for some odd reason, the minions refuse to eat it.  They refuse to eat it even when it is sweet. So today, in preparation of me baking another bread to try, I decided to see if I could get them to eat it. Remember, I refuse to spend more than 15-20 minutes. I have 4 under the age of 5 and 3 are solid eaters.

I was talking to my anime friend and Domo came to mind. Yes! They are brown and would be perfect. There is not much I could do to mess this one up. So I cut the bread into a little bit more of a rectangle shape and added pretzels for arms and candy eyes. The mouth is made from strawberry cream cheese and mozzarella cheese for the teeth.

I have some not so ripe peaches, kiwi, and colby jack cheese helping to keep the arms steady for transport to the table. Minions are not to careful with their bento's. And we have bologna D's stacked up for their enjoyment as well.
Did they eat the bread? Yes! Pork emptied out his bento onto the table before he went after the Domo. Tyke ate them first thing while pointing to the peaches and telling me they were apples and how much he loves apples.

The frog bentos were purchased from AllThingsForSale.com . My Father-in-Law purchased the first one for me and the minions fought over it so much I had to purchase a second. Have I mentioned how much I love that site? Love cannot even begin to describe it.
